Parisian Time Step in Montmartre
French chanson, jazz and tap dance at La Cave Café, Montmartre, Paris
Saturday 6th December 2026 | One Night Only
Step back in time through Paris as Parisian Time Step makes an exclusive Montmartre performance before touring Australia.
Parisian Time Step is an intimate and charming cabaret that blends French chanson, jazz, tap dance, and storytelling, taking audiences on a journey through the rich musical history of Paris. The show is both entertaining and immersive, offering a unique cultural experience set in the heart of the French capital.
Drawing from the city’s past, and poking gentle fun at Parisian anecdotes, the show seamlessly blends nostalgia, history and humour creating an unforgettable experience. From the poignant love songs of the Age of Enlightenment to the lively polkas of the Belle Époque; from glamorous 1930s music halls to the golden age of jazz in the 1940s and ’50s, Parisian Time Step celebrates the city’s musical legacy. The journey continues through the Left Bank jazz revolution of the 1960s, culminating in toe-tapping originals of the 2000s. Each song tells a story, evoking the essence of different Parisian neighbourhoods, eras, and cultural movements.
Created by writer-performer Ruby Boukabou, with jazzed-up arrangements by pianist Philippe Petit and choreography by Wendy Lee Taylor, this cabaret has charmed audiences across France and Australia since 2023.
With anecdotes in English and ‘Franglais’ it’s suited to English speaking audience but with plenty of French music, song and dance, it’s accessible and fun for all.
